Error while first syncing files with Zotero storage

Error Report ID: 2106333849
I'm not sure whether I should post this, but it said that the error report would not get looked at if unless I post it. Sorry, if this is a wrong use of the forum!
The error occurred when I first tried to sync my files with the newly acquired storage. Since I have quite a few files, it worked away nicely for about 15 minutes and then I received an error message "Unexpected status code 404 in Zotero.Sync.Storage.Session.ZFS._getFileUploadParameters()". A restart of the sync process always comes up with the same message, just now after about 10 sec. I should be very happy about any advice!
  • Please provide a Debug ID for a sync attempt that generates the error.
  • Dear Dan, Thanks for your reply. I have performed the steps given under Debug Output Logging and received the debug ID: D1488250700.
Prior to this (immediately upon opening Zotero) before I could even get to the Preference menu to start the debug-log, I got an error message telling me that there was a problem with a script. It was in German and translated it said: A script on this page may be busy or not responding. You may stop it now or continue to see whether it finishes.
    Script: chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/attachments.js:1078
I hope this information is helpful...
I should be very grateful if you could help me.
    Antonia
  • Dear Dan, I wonder whether you had time to look into my syncing problem? Was the debug ID OK? My syncing with the storage space I bought still does not work and I am a bit at a loss what to do... I should be very grateful if you could give me an update or some advice what I should do.
Thank you very much in advance, Antonia
  • I did—sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. This is (and was) already fixed in the latest dev builds of Zotero, and the fix will be included in the next release, which should be out within a few days. Thanks for your patience.
  • Or, as an immediate workaround, find the '96563868' folder in the 'storage' folder within your Zotero data directory, find the associated item in Zotero, duplicate it (via right-click), drag the file attachment to the new item, and then delete the old one and empty the trash. After that, file syncing might work.
  • Thank you very much for your fast reply! I am happy that the solution is so near.
