Zotero is not accepting downloads from Chrome plug in or DOI Add by identifier. Everything looks fine in Chrome, but the entry doesn't show up in Zotero. Also, the DOI takes the identifier and looks like it is processing, but then just sits there and never finishes.
  • The same link works on the web version, so it isn't the identifier, it is something with Zotero.
  • Please provide the URL (or the DOI) you are trying to save from.
  • Like I said, the DOI worked fine on the web-based service. This is the one that worked on the web-based service: 10.1007/s11002-021-09599-z
  • Add item by identifier and with the connector both work for me with Zotero desktop. Do you have any plugin installed in Zotero?
  • I'm not suprised. I have no doubt I screwed something up. I was trying to free up some storage in hopes my aging machine would get a second wind. I searched for .pdf files in /zotero and deleted all the files found. That's when it started. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice to no avail, however. I am done with this for tonight. Any response will be considered tomorrow. Thank you.

  • Also, it is not letting me import items. It says they are in the wrong file format (xml, bibtext, csv). Basically, I am back to manually entering all my references.

    Can you provide a Debug ID from Zotero for an Add Item by Identifier attempt that fails?

    After that, try resetting your translators from the Advanced → Files and Folders section of the Zotero settings.
