126306158 “Could not find a running Word instance” Hp

Zotero appears in the Word toolbar but everytime I press one of the alternative (citation, bibliography, note, document preferences, refresh, unlink citation) I get the error message "Zotero could not find a running Word instance."

I have followed each step in the manual for this problem: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/could_not_find_a_running_word_instance.

But none of the above makes the problem disappear. I have also reinstalled my BIOS (F.50-09/02/2025) but that did not make any change. Please help

  • What's the full Word version (In Word press File -> Account -> About Word)? Does this happen if you create a new temporary Windows user account and test there?
  • Word version: Microsoft® Word for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2509 Build 16.0.19231.20246) 64-bitars

    The same thing happens regardless of the user account

    Where is the file stored? Does it help if you store it on desktop? Does it help if the file is unsaved? Does it help if you update to the latest version of Microsoft Office?
