Zotero Connector Feature Request: Open App

In Safari for Mac at least, the browser extension requests that the app be open if it is not when the extension is invoked. Well enough, but I don’t see any reason a button cannot be added to that dialog to do so from there.

Also, when you save an entry, an “open in app” (a la Evernote Web Clipper) feature in the confirmation window would be very helpful.

    Because browser extensions can't just open programs on your computer — if they could, that would be a major security vulnerability.

    (There are some ways we might be able to achieve this, and the Safari extension in particular might be able to do it because of the specific way it has to be built, but it's not straightforward in general.)

    Zotero already selects the saved item automatically in the collection where you saved it. You just have to switch to the app.
