I cannot save any of my references.

  • Which version of Zotero and Firefox are you using, on which operating system?

I can save items fine from the URL you provide (Zotero 2.0b7.6, Firefox 3.5.6, Windows Vista SP2).

If you are using Zotero 2.0b, as a workaround for now, you can copy the DOI (except the http://dx.doi.org/ at the start) into the "add item by identifier" dialog box (click the "magic wand" button in Zotero, above the centre pane). This should retrieve the same information as the translator would.
  • Works for me as well. A Report ID after trying to save might be helpful.

Just as a note for future reference, in the next release, "Add Item by Identifier" will automatically parse out the DOI from longer strings, including doi.org URLs.
  • Hi Bionatsci and Dan. The report ID is 1426176523. I am still having this issue this morning. The error says that basically Zotero can't translate the DOI for some reason. I'm using Firefox 3.5.7 on Mac OS X 10.5.8.

    I'm using Zotero 1.0.10.

    Please advise.

    Thank you,

    Lindsay
  • I just downloaded Zotero 2.0b7.6. Unfortunately, it's only picking up some of the records, not all of them. For instance, on the first page, it only picked up 6/10 http://www.popline.org/ics-wpd/exec/icswppro.dll?AC=CHANGE_REPORT&XC=/ics-wpd/exec/icswppro.dll&BU=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.popline.org%2Fics-wpd%2Fpopweb%2Fexpert.html&TN=popline&SN=AUTO32742&SE=1726&RN=0&MR=10&TR=0&TX=0&ES=1&CS=1&XP=&RF=FullRec-ShortLabels&EF=&DF=LongRecordDisplay&RL=1&EL=0&DL=1&NP=0&ID=&MF=&MQ=&TI=0&DT=&ST=0&IR=0&NR=0&NB=6&SV=0&SS=0&BG=&FG=&QS=&OEX=ISO-8859-1&OEH=ISO-8859-1

I'm doing a Bibliometric study, so I need all 130 references to be imported.

    Thank you!

sillindsay - that site doesn't actually have a Zotero translator. It just uses the DOIs on the page - 6 of the first 10 items specify dois. You can tell by hovering your Mouse over the URL bar item - it says Save to Zotero (DOI) - the (DOI) in parentheses is telling you it's using the DOI translator, otherwise it would say Save to Zotero (Popline)
  • Thank you guys! I hope to see Zotero work better with Popline in the future!
