Zotero Integration Error with Word (saving in onedrive)

Always using the desktop version of word but saving in my onedrive. When I open up the word document in the desktop version to edit, I get the following error message when I try to insert a citation into the document.
'Zotero Integration Error' 'Zotero experienced an error updating your document' 'Would you like to view troubleshooting instructions?'.
This is occuring intermittently and only on some documents. I have looked at the troubleshooting advice page and nothing works/applies. I have used the purged option in the storage page and I am within my storage limit but this problem is still occuring. I am using a Windows machine. Has anyone experienced this or have any advice?

    Note that this isn't remotely related to this problem, and that's not at all something you wanted to use. You should go to the Sync → Reset section of the Zotero settings and do a Reset File Sync History (but no other options) to have Zotero relink your uploaded attachments.

    It works when I save it to my local files but I want to save and work from it from my onedrive so its backed up. How do I fix this issue without saving all of my documents to my local files?

    From the page:
    If using OneDrive on Windows, save the copy of the document to your local hard drive, or try renaming the file to remove any spaces in the filename. OneDrive is known to interfere with the plugin for some people.
