HAL Translator not recognized

I have tried to import the following thesis:
https://theses.hal.science/tel-05056628

I see that there is a translator for HAL:
https://github.com/zotero/translators/

But it uses the Embedded Metadata translator instead on that page.

I have tried also on the simpler page:
https://hal.science/tel-05056628
But same result.

The Embedded Metadata translator is not able to get the PDF file.
Is is possible to fix the HAL translator?

Zotero Connector 5.0.186beta1
Firefox 144.0 (64-bit)
Windows 10
Zotero 8.0-beta.13+d1f478fc4 (64-bit)
The Debug ID is D287821360.
  • Thanks! Pushed a fix. Your Zotero Connector should auto-update within a few minutes, or you can update translators manually from the Advanced pane of the Zotero settings.
  • Thank you. The translator is recognised now, but the PDF file still cannot be downloaded.

    The Debug ID is D600293945.
  • The import of the PDF file stays blocked at this stage:
    https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u265723/amf508zcrtm8o409cmi8.png
It does not show the red cross saying that the import of the PDF file failed.

It's just a 400 MB PDF (somehow) and a slow server.

If I do a "Find Full Text" on the item from My Library, it takes 5 seconds to download the PDF file.
But if I try to import from the HAL page or directly from the page of the PDF file, I can wait 10 minutes and nothing happens.

I understand that it is a big file, but I would expect it to work the same as "Find Full Text"?
  • We'll look into it. (When saving via the Connector, the download happens in your browser, so it's a slightly different mechanism.)
