Citations Not working

Hi, I have been having an issue with Zotero for the last week where it keeps crashing.

When I try to insert a citation, it takes a really long time (sometimes more than an hour with the rainbow wheel turning) and nothing gets inserted.

I had deleted the zotero plugin from the library on my computer and reinstalled the word plugin. And that fixed it for a few days, but now it's not working again. I have tried deleting and reinstalling it again with no luck. I created a new word document and citations seem to work fine there. Not sure if it is because my document is so long (700 pages).

I would really appreciate any help on how to resolve this issue.

    700 pages is definitely on the extreme end of what we expect and test Zotero with. Which OS is this? Is it better if you restart your computer and run nothing but Zotero and Word? If Zotero is actually freezing, you would not be able to generate a Debug ID, but see lower on that page for how to capture a log in a terminal window. If you produce one for an operation that causes a freeze and send it to support@zotero.org we would take a look.

    This is going to be on Mac (no rainbow wheel on Windows) and we know that Word for Mac is slow -- it's just not viable for a 700 page document, you should write that in chapters and assemble at the end, if possible using Word for Windows.

    You can also transfer each chapter to LibreOffice and try assembling with that.
