Is a book too large for Zotero to handle?

I am writing a 80,000 (or so) word book with citations. The software was taking forever to update. ChatGPT said to separate my Chapters into separate Google Docs and then put them all together in the end. Is this accurate? Seems like a lot of work and I am fearful that when I finally combine them it will overwhelm the software. I am paying for increased storage too. Thanks!

Using Google Docs, yes, that's too large. Word for Windows or Libre Office would work fine.

I only have a Mac so that is why I was using Google Docs. So you're saying if I get MS Word for my Mac and but do I need to change the Zotero connector? Will I lose all my citations?

Word for Mac would barely help. You would want Libre Office (which is free) for Mac.

Actually, most publishers want book manuscripts submitted with Word so hopefully, Zotero will work with 80,000 Word book vs using Google Docs.
