tag colours: only 9 times?

hi, I just wanted to check if it's an actual issue or maybe I'm doing something wrong...
so basically I am about to have much more than just 9 tags in my library and I want them all colored, but the program lets me do it 9 times total, the rest remains blank

to clarify, I dont need more than 9 colors - I just don't understand why can't I assign a single color to, like, 10-15 different tags (e.g. by specific topic)...

also very interesting decision to not include mass-coloring, I had to painfully and manually do the whole right click pick an option pick a color assign a position confirm thing 9 times before finding out that I won't be able to do the full coloring for the remaining half of my tags.

so, question: why was the coloring tool implemented in a way it was and is there any way to make it good? OR if there's something that I don't get about this system (which I really hope is the case) could anyone please explain how to do it as God/dev intended?

    Because one of the main features of colored tags is that you can toggle them via number keys on the keyboard. The other is that they appear in the items list, and it's not totally clear what value you'd get from seeing colors that didn't actually distinguish between different tags.

    Can you say more about how this would be useful to you?

    You can drag multiple items to tags in the tag selector to assign them in batch. You can also press a number key to toggle a colored tag on all selected items.
