Limit number of authors in dependent style
Hi everyone,
I’d like to modify the IEEE Reviews in Biomedical Engineering citation style so that references with three or more authors are listed as “First Author et al.” in the reference list.
However, I noticed that this journal style is a dependent style, which means it links to the main IEEE style and doesn’t contain its own or sections inside the CSL file.
What’s the best way to proceed if I want to make this change without overwriting the original IEEE style?
Ideally, I’d like to keep the original IEEE and IEEE Reviews in Biomedical Engineering styles intact and have a custom version just for my use.
Thanks for your help!

Yes, this is for the journal IEEE Reviews in Biomedical Engineering. Their author guidelines specify this in the References section (page 4), which can be found here:

The examples at the end of the document also show that references with three or more authors should be abbreviated as “First Author et al.”
