Problems with highlighting and underlying texts

When trying to highlight or underline a text, in the place where it shows annotations, the text appears like random letters combined.
For instance, when trying to underline a text, this is what appears: ",W H[SODLQV KRZ LW LV SRVVLEOH IRU \RX WR VSHDN DQG XQGHU VWDQG DQG PDNH MXGJPHQWV DERXW ZHOO IRUPHGQHVV DQG LW WHOOV ZKDW \RX NQRZ DERXW WKH VRXQGV ZRUGV SKUDVHV DQG VHQWHQFHV RI \RXU ODQJXDJH"
Please I need a solution to this.

I'm having the same problem! I thought it was the Better Note plug in, but I removed it and still have the problem. Same string of characters if I try to copy and paste the text.

@kplunk5 Try opening the PDF file in a different PDF viewer and copy the same text. If it's still garbled, then the issue is with the PDF file itself.
