copying text as image

Dropped from new Zotero (which is otherwise terrific) is the option of capturing text as image by putting a box around it. I desperately need this because logic symbols mostly don't appear as text and I get gibberish. I really, really need to capture stuff with logic symbols in it to paste into notes! The only workaround is capturing with screenshot which makes the print too small. Please, Zotero--put back this feature for those of us who are reading text with logic and math symbols!
  • No, image annotations still exist in the reader. Nothing about them has changed.
  • Got it. My mistake. I was annotating a web page--a new feature which is terrific. and image annotations aren't available for that. Still are for pdfs. My bad.
  • Yeah, image annotations as they work on PDFs aren’t available for webpage snapshots because webpages don’t have a fixed width/layout, so while we could capture essentially a screenshot and associate it with roughly the same spot in the document, there’s no guaranteed way to draw the same bounding box — if the window was slightly narrower or wider, the page might have a different layout.

In a future version, we’ll likely offer a way to add an annotation to an individual image in a webpage snapshot, but that still wouldn’t help with text, so taking an actual screenshot and pasting that into a note is likely the best you can do.
