Lost a file I was annotating on my iPad

Hi! I had been annotating and making notes on an article for a couple hours. Then, on the app I left the article and swiped back to the Zotero home. I could see my file there along with two other articles I had been reading the week prior. I wanted to put the article I had just finished annotating in a folder just for articles on that topic. I pressed and held the file and dragged it to the left to put it in a file, when I realized that I needed to make a file first. So I released the file I had dragged to the left, and it disappeared. I can’t find it in my library and I’m really hoping I can recover it with all of the notes and annotations I had made. I have seen other posts similar to this, and I haven’t had luck checking my trash folder.
  • Hey @Naomi_Nelson, can you please clarify if you did all the steps you mention after the annotating in the iPad Zotero app, because it is not clear. In this case, can you please mention the version of the app you have installed, and the iPadOS version. Any item you drag, will only be added to collections, in the same library, it shouldn't be removed from the current collection you see. Additionally, if it was a standalone attachment item, it can be dragged to another item, and become one of its attachments. One possibility is that when you released it, it was on top of such a valid drag and drop target. Valid targets that you drag on top of, show a green plus badge on the drag item's representation top right corner. Could this be your case?
