Upgrade StorageWord doc displaying in-text code
One of my users reported an issue discovered today. His manuscript in Word is displaying the field codes for in-text citations rather than the style in-text notation.
We have done the following troubleshooting:
- quite Word and Zotero desktop and relanuch
- hit Refresh in the Zotero Word menu
- used Document preferences to change to a different citation style
-- it didn't change the in-text code, but did reformat the bibliography correctly
- checked for Zotero updates
- tried the advice in the Word Integration->Field Codes kb article, https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/word_field_codes
--no change

mradikHis computer is also very slow today. If it's having some issue that is slowing everything down, could that cause the in-text field code issue without interfering with the bibliography?

dstillmanedited 2 days agoAdd a new citation and then confirm that you're toggling field codes correctly using the shortcut from the linked page. If that one toggles and the other ones don't, most likely the document was corrupted and those other citations are just flat text that will need to be replaced by new citations. In that case they're also unlikely to be showing up in the bibliography, though there may be other instances of the same citations that are included.
