Display on desktop Zotero looks different

Hello,

I recently updated my desktop Zotero and now the display looks different (color, font, organization), and it appears to match the Zotero online display much more closely. Before, when I normally would click a source, there were tabs on the right-hand column at the top for "info" and "notes" making it super quick and easy to access my source notes. Now, I have to scroll through all of the source info, abstract, and an image of the article just to get to my notes at the bottom of the column.

Is there a way to switch back to the previous display style? Accessing my notes in the column immediately after clicking a source is my top priority, but in general I miss the entire old display. Any tips you have would be much appreciated!!
  • On the right side there are icons for each section of the item details including notes. You can right-click on one and "Pin" it so that it will be automatically scrolled to when you move between items.
  • You can't switch back, no.
You can just click on the note icon on the right, no need to scroll through the various sections.
You can also right-click on "Notes" and pin that section to the top so it's always the first thing you see.
  • POST EDIT:

Most of the notes I have taken in Zotero were not within a "note" I created for a source. When I would click a source, the right column would contain just a little bit of source info and immediately below was a large open area for typing. I would use this area for my notes, but when I would select a source they were not stored under "notes." This open area of typing would only appear for sources made by Zotero after I uploaded a PDF. For whatever reason, this typing space never appeared when I manually created a source.

While I can see the notes I officially created as attached to my sources, all of the notes I typed in this open space for all of my sources are currently missing as far as I can tell. Does anyone know how to locate these? Many thanks.
