Hi,

I've got the following problem with Zotero (20b75, OOo Integration 30a5, on Windows XP SP3, Sun Java Version 6 Update 17, AMD X64 3000+ 2GB Ram ). The Problem started after updating to the latest Zotero version, before that everything worked fine.

I opened my text document which contains about ~40 citations. Trying to add/alter citations or just pressing one of the zotero-buttons gives the following error message:

"An Error occured communicationg with Zotero:
java.lang.nullpointerexception"
and then a huge pile of other messages.
(I sent a screenshot to support@zotero.org)

Clicking "ok" brings me to a new message saying "Zotero experienced an error updating your document. fields is null"

This only happens in my former document, a new, blank document works fine. Copying/pasting my text to a new document brings the following error: No response after pressing any Zotero button.

I can't track down a foul citation or other Probs with the document.

The Zotero Error-report says:
[JavaScript Error: "aNode is null" {file: "chrome://browser/content/nsContextMenu.js" line: 364}]
RefControl: handleEvent: TypeError: gContextMenu is null
[JavaScript Error: "[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80570016 (NS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE) [nsIJSCID.getService]" nsresult: "0x80570016 (NS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/integration.js :: execCommand :: line 127" data: no]" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/integration.js" line: 127}]

Hope you can help me with this one - zotero worked superb before I updated.

Greetings, Jorge
  • Hi,

    I have the same problem. It seems to be document specific. My colleague cannot insert or update citations in the same document as well. We have older versions of the document that work, so now we need to manually update an archived version. Tedious.

    Would be nice if there was a solution for this. I think this is quite critical when you are in the finishing phase of your document.
