Zotero 7 stuck on "Exporting Items" for every translator

Problem:
Zotero is stuck on "Exporting Items" with no exported file being created. This seems to happen for all translators and even when just exporting a single item.

Steps to reproduce:

0. Open zotero in troubleshooting mode and enable logging
1. Right click an item and select "Export item"
2. Select a format (tested with RIS, CSV, Simple Evernote Export and different (Better)Bib(La)TeX combinations)
3. Click OK and confirm location of created file

The "Exporting Items" dialog with the progress bar pops up, put nothing happens from that point.

    Zotero is getting a permission error trying to write to the destination file. That's about all we can tell you.
