Color of imported highlights

When converting PDF highlights or notes to Zotero, depending on the external tool that created them, they sometimes end up in a different color.

For instance, in a highlighted PDF that looks like this when open in macOS Preview:

when imported into Zotero it ends up looking like this:

The yellow is barely visible, and I have to manually change it to the standard Zotero yellow.
Would it be possible to have an option upon import to standardize the colors (e.g., to force all highlights to the Zotero yellow)?

  • Automatically assigning the closest standard Zotero reader color can cause unintended effects, such as assigning the wrong color or reducing the available highlight colors if you use a broader palette.

However, we will consider not applying additional opacity to imported annotations.
  • Thanks, that'd be great. Not sure what modifications are done.
Some way of controlling the colors on import would be great.
I don't particularly care about the exact hue of the highlight. For importing, I'd actually prefer not to preserve the original and have it all unified. So if there was an option the user could choose "make all highlights yellow" (even if they are green or red in the original) that'd be amazing.

BTW, what is the exact yellow used in the default in Zotero? Because then I could manipulate them all prior to import, so that they end up in the right tone.
