Persistent sync error on report ID 795512623

Hi There
I didn't realise my Zotero had stopped sync'ing because i was out of storage on the free tier. I've paid for more storage, but can't get the sync to complete. I've been trying for several days now.

Have tried restarting the machine & Zotero several times, but the sync never completes successfully.

Thanks in advance for any help!
  • Can you provide a Debug ID (different from a Report ID) for a sync attempt that results in an error?

Is this from an internet connection with a slow upload speed?
  • Thanks for your help @dstillman. Update is it's resolved, but maybe the below is helpful anyway.

I re-ran the sync with logging enabled, but also get an error when trying to submit the debug output.

Attaching a link to a copy/paste of the debug output as a text file instead

I got a bit suspicious when I couldn't upload the debug file. Doing a bit of investigating, I was only getting around 2-4mbps upload. A big more digging and router restarting I was up to 10mbps upload on my wifi. Sync error still persisted.

When I hardwired in, i'm getting closer to 50mbps upload and now the sync is able to complete.

I know 2mbps is considered low bandwidth these days, but 10 seems fairly reasonable and unusual that it's below a threshold that would timeout and error a sync.

Anyway, very appreciative of the tool and your help. Happy to provide any other feedback that might be useful if it's helpful to debug and tune anything for future releases.
  • ok @dstillman .. turns out i am having trouble again.

    Debug ID D447690692

    upload is at 40m/bit today

thanks for any advice you can offer
  • OK, try now.
  • thanks @dstillman .. now i get "Error Connecting to server" as the sync error

    New Debug:

    D893834273
  • Anyone able to help here? my client is now not able to sync at all
  • Yes it is. That's an unrelated issue (and a misleading error message) during full-text content syncing, which just lets you perform full-text searches on devices where the file hasn't been downloaded and in the web library. All your data and files would be syncing now.

We haven't been to reliably reproduce that error in order to fix it, but you can ignore it or temporarily disable "Sync full-text content" in the Sync settings. I'd recommend the former. There's a good chance it will just go away on its own as you add additional items.
  • Great ok, thanks again for your help.
