Chicago 17th not working as expected

Hi,

I noticed Chicago 17 has recently been replaced with Chicago 18. I still need to use Chicago 17 for my assignments so I added 17 (notes and bibliography) in the Cite menu. However, it is not showing as I would expect. For example:

A correct old citation in the footnotes:
[1] Katie Day and Sebastian C. H. Kim, eds., A Companion to Public Theology, Brill’s Companions to Modern Theology Series (Leiden: Brill Publishers, 2017), 2.

Now an incorrect citation in the main body:
(Day and Kim 2017, 2)

Is there something I need to change to continue using the old style of citations?
  • That's most certainly not Chicago 17 (notes and bibliography). Could you post a screenshot of your Zotero Document Settings in Word here?
  • That setting is just for adding and removing style, whatever you select there has no impact on citations. Citation styles are set for each document individually in the Document Settings of the Zotero word processor plugin (unless you're using quick copy, in which case the default style is set under Export in the Zotero preferences)
  • Ahh, thank you - I see now the settings within Word that needed changing too. Phew, that has saved several hours of rewriting references!

    Thank you for your help.
