Steps to reproduce:
Start Zotero (keeping it in background).
Open Microsoft Word and any document (new or existing).
In the Zotero tab, I click Add/Edit Citation.
The cursor/rotating wheel appears and remains for several minutes.
Eventually, Word displays the error: “Word could not communicate with Zotero. Please ensure that Zotero is open and try again.”.

What happened:
The citation dialog never appears.
Only the error message is shown after a long wait.
Zotero itself remains open in the background.
What I expected to happen:
The red Zotero citation bar should open immediately to let me insert a citation.
Additional info:

I already tried restarting Word, Zotero, and the computer.
In the Zotero app I reinstalled the Word add-in multiple times (Edit → Preferences → Cite → Word Processors → “Reinstall Microsoft Word Add-in”), and the installation was confirmed as successful.

The issue keeps coming back even after reinstalling.
