Deleted citations keep reappearing in text

When I delete a citation I have created in OpenOffice (.doc Format; bookmark), it keeps reappearing at a later point in the text where it originally was (maybe due to having pressed the refesh button in the Zotero plugin in order to remove the entry from the bibliography, where it has not disappeared automatically). What is the proper way to delete citations? In the edit citation form, I don't see a delete option. Simply deleting it in the text causes the issue above.

Thank you!

I work with Zotero 1.0.10, Firefox 3.5.4. OpenOffice 3.1.1. and OpenSUSE 11.1 Linux.
  • You should be able to just delete it. You may not be fully deleting it or OO may be doing something weird. I can't recall any previous reports of this.

Bookmarks mode is a bit of a hack in the name of cross-platform compatibility, though. If possible, edit in Reference Marks/.odt and switch to Bookmarks before saving to .doc.
  • Thank you, Dan! Your solution seems to work.
