How to prevent Zotero from automatically inserting URLs in citations

I rarely if ever need the URLs so have to delete them manually. I use Chicago. Not all of my citations have page numbers. I don't really want to modify the code for a citation style (I tried and gave up). Is there an easier way? Thanks!

In Zotero, under "Cite" uncheck the box for "Include URLs for journal articles".

Sounds like you have already tried unchecking "Include URLs..." under Zotero Settings -> Cite?

If you have already unchecked that button, have you tried using one of the eleven "without URLs" versions of Chicago?

Thanks--I had unchecked the "include URLs" but did not know about the Chicago w/o URL option. Will try that. Thanks!
