Layout I have been using over a decade is lost in new zotero 7 64 bit. I can adjust it right but upon closing and reopening back to an unwanted default.
By default, Zotero reopens the item pane when you restart Zotero. That's been the case for years — to help people who closed it by accident and couldn't figure out how to get it back — and doesn't have anything to do with Zotero 7.
For the moment, you can change that by going to the Config Editor in the Advanced pane of the Zotero settings and setting extensions.zotero.reopenPanesOnRestart to false.
But now that there's an always-visible side/bottom navigation bar that allows easily reopening the item pane, as well as a View menu option to toggle panes, we can probably get rid of this behavior and just preserve the previous state.
