Author fields not displayed
Hello,
I installed Zotero on Firefox 3.5.6 and Windows7 and noticed that in the Info section I do not have the Author fields available. In other words I cannot add/remove any authors. However when I installed Zotero on another computer with FireFox 3.0.16 and Windows XP the Author fields displayed without any problem!
Please note that authors are populated without any problem when I use the Icons next to the Url (do not known what this feature is called yet).
In both cases I am using Zotero 2.0 Beta
Does anyone known if this is a bug or else I might have configured Zotero badly?
Regards,
Simon J.

p.s. - the only two other addons I have are Norton related, but I disabled them. Should I maybe delete them completely and consider re-installing FireFox from scratch?
Are you using the standard Firefox theme?
Does this happen for all items, or only some?
This only happens on the Author field as much as I know. I think it might be because this field is different then the others (it is a drop down allowing to change from Author to Contributor, etc and it also has the plus and minus symbols to allow adding more then one author).
(Yes, the Creator field is different from other fields, but no one has ever reported this problem before, so it's something particular to your installation.)
I can always try to un-install and install Zotero again. In that case, taking a backup of the Zotero directory is enough to not loose the references I have already saved?
You might also try deleting the localstore.rdf file in your Firefox profile, or trying a new Firefox profile, though, as you said, this is already a new Firefox installation.
Something I should note is that when I install FireFox I always have two add-ons automatically installed without being informed. These add-ons are;
- Norton IPS 1.0
- Norton Toolbar 3.7
(this is a new laptop that came with Norton already installed on it).
I tried disabling these add-ons however I cannot uninstall them because the button is disabled. Also I have Windows7 64-bit and FireFox is installed in the "Program Files (x86)" directory.
I can partially solve the problem buy moving the Zotero database from my laptop to the other one which does not seem to have this problem. Update the authors and then move it back here :)
