At first Zotero extention just disappeared. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I also re-installed the extention. It appeared and then disappeared. What do I do?
This issue still hasn't been resolved. In fact things have gotten worse, as the extension is not longer appearing on the left pane (as it is in the note above).
I know you you already tried deleting and reinstalling, but there's no other fix. macOS is supposed to automatically register the extension, and we have no way to fix it that's not happening.
Beyond that, an option would be to switch to a browser with a more reliable extension framework.
(You should also make sure you're running macOS 15.5 at this point.)
Man, you are really on top of documenting these issues and fixes @dstillman! I had same problem but simply deleted the program from applications and reinstalled; fixed it after running the app again.
I get the feeling safari is a bit of a pain to develop for haha. But I think I speak for a lot of users who appreciate Zotero still having option for it! Granted, starting to experiment with Firefox albeit more RAM hungry than safari I find.
Not a developer but just curious, what's the bloody bug in MacOS that deletes the extension from safari?
Have you tried deleting Zotero from Applications, restarting your computer, and then reinstalling it?
I deleted Zotero, restarted and reinstalled - twice.
Now, the extention is not showing up at all.
Please help.
