Unable to open attachment PDF stored on webDAV server in zotero

After synchronizing the data and setting up webDAV, I can see the PDF attachment below the entry in zotero, the icon is a red bar file with a small chain, but clicking on it does not respond.
Due to hardware damage on the old device (Windows), I tried to reset zotero after replacing it with a new device (Mac). I confirmed that the original data in the zotero web library exists and is up-to-date, and that most of the files in the webDAV server are still there (a very small portion of the files don't exist, I guess the reason is that it's probably due to the use of the attanger plugin to capture local files rather than directly from the web).In addition, the webDAV setup has been done in the zotero client and prompts to successfully authenticate to the server.
Possible prerequisite event for impact: old device with webDAV server set zotero folder name to back-zotero, and new device client default folder name is zotero, so I change the folder name to zotero in the webDAV server.
Attempted action: completely uninstalled zotero with webDAV serverClient.Disable all plugins.
But this problem still exists.I need to use it urgently and would appreciate any help.
  • Thanks for the reply, but I have followed all the settings as prompted and the problem still exists.I exported debug ID 2029165576.
  • That's a Report ID (and an invalid one), not a Debug ID.
  • Sorry, the debug ID is D188883126. Synchronization with the webDAV server due to multiple reproduction operations resulted in an error HTTP503 being reported, which is not the cause of the problem, as the problem still exists when the error is not reported.
  • OperationError Exception: Could not parse path (E:\[…].pdf): NS_ERROR_FILE_UNRECOGNIZED_PATH

It's not a file stored on WebDAV — it's a linked file with an absolute path from Windows, which fails when you try to open it on macOS. Zotero is supposed to handle that better and show a proper file-not-found message, and we'll fix that, but you'll need to convert that to a stored file (Tools → Manage Attachments → Convert Linked File to Stored File) on the computer where it exists.
  • Thanks so much. I also tried to fix the problem. The reason files were converted to linked files may be because of the Attanger plugin.
I have recovered as many files as I could. Fortunately all the information was on the zotero cloud. Hope you doing well and Zotero better.
