need PDFs workspace

Is there a PDF plug-in that can realize the concept of a workspace, that is, it can save many opened PDFs (such as several core references) as a workspace, and when needed, load this workspace to directly open all you need PDF files (too many projects, a lot of PDFs are painful)!

    If you work several topics in parallel, with each topic needing 1 to 3 opened pdfs, it would be very useful to quickly switch between different workspaces, (kind of like "Workspace Plus" plugin in Obsidian.md, which is a great gold standard for such feature : https://github.com/nothingislost/obsidian-workspaces-plus).

    This is indeed something that is sorely missing from zotero. It would make it so much easier to work on multiple projects (or term paper + weekly seminar readings).

    Perhaps this could be integrated into the already existing drop down tab switcher?

    As this is already a feature in firefox, I hope this would be feasable before Zotero 8.

    Yes ! Some sort of improved tab management is definitely needed, when you work on 10+ pdfs at a time, it gets quite complicated and messy.

    Would love to see something like that !

    I think this might also significantly reduce memory usage of zotero.

    Since one could switch between tab groups, loading the respective pdfs and closing all other, there would no longer be a need to keep open all pdfs for different projects at once, and so Zotero would not need to keep them in RAM.

    (Zotero doesn't keep all open tabs in memory, so this wouldn't make a difference for memory usage.)

    @dstillman okay that is good to know, I thought I had read reports before of closing tabs resolving excessive memory use.

    RAM aside, could you give us any insights as to wether tab-workspaces are still planned for zotero 7? Would be much appreciated!

    We don't give timelines, but tab groups are still planned, yes.
