Error with Zotero

I can't use Zotero on google docs with any browser (Chrome, Opera, FireFox), neither can my collegues with different computers (and platforms: macOS and windows).
  • See Reporting Problems. Provide more information.
  • Zotero version 7.0.22
    MacOS 15.6

I uninstalled zotero connector from google chrome and installed it again. I installed zotero connector for the first time on Opera but it wasn't working. I installed FireFox for the first time on my computer and installed zotero connector but it wasn't working.
When I try to do anything on my google docs it says zotero isn't working. This happened either with refresh, editing existing references, add new references, fixing disconnected ones. The same happened with a new document to me and all my collegues.

Again, see Reporting Problems for the two things we always need in order to help. That includes exactly what you're clicking and exact error messages you're receiving. We can't help if you just say "zotero isn't working".

Note that we don't support Opera, so you'll need to try from a supported browser.
  • Can you provide a Debug ID from the Zotero Connector for reloading the page on a new, empty document and reproducing the problem?
  • I already explained you what happened!
Zotero is not doing anything is like not comunicating from the web to the app. When I go and try to do the Debug there is not any information, when I follow your guide nothing appears.

I asked for something very specific and linked to documentation for providing it. You can either provide it or not, but we can't help you without it. If you're confused by something in the documentation, quote it and explain what you don't understand.

Again, we need a Debug ID from the Zotero Connector — nothing to do with the app at this point.

  • When you're done, tap the circular stop button in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

In this step I need to close the window? Because I don't see that button.

  • You're reading the section for the iOS app. I linked directly to the section for the Zotero Connector that you need to follow.

You're saying this is in a new, empty document? Doing what, exactly? Can you provide Steps to Reproduce?
  • This is not an empty document. It is an existing document on which I have been working since two months.

    1. Lunched Zotero app
    2. Opened google docs (with Google chrome)
    3. Selected the file and opened it
    4. Worked on it as always
    5. Tried to change citations and that was the error
    6. Tried to add new citations, same error
    7. Tried to refresh bibliography, same error
    8. Asked all my colleagues, which have access to the same document to do the same actions as me from different laptop (and operating systems)
    9. Issues persisted

You said above "The same happened with a new document to me and all my collegues." If this is only happening with a specific existing document, you need to say that. Did you just mean a new copy of the existing document?
  • I tried to copy the whole document and paste it to a new document, since zotero guide suggested me to do that.
I tried but zotero was not working at all on the new document. So the problem was persistent also in the new document.
  • Could you follow the final step of Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents and share a snippet of the document that produces this broken behaviour with support@zotero.org?
