64 bit Zotero with 32 bit MS Office and improved performance

Dear all.

We run Zotero on a server accessed by our laboratory staff, and it has been running a little slow lately (v. 7.0.22 (32-bit)). As stated, it is 32-bit and I wondered if updating to 64-bit would help somewhere to improved performance. However, our server MS Office programs and Edge are all 32-bit and cannot be upgraded.

So I just wanted to check if we updated Zotero to 64-bit, would there be issues with zotero connector in Edge and/or Word plugins with different architectures?

Moreover, we do have a large library of 9,304 items, and users are setup to sync as required, but is there any advise to maintain Zotero running smoothly with cloud libraries?

    It should work fine with 32-bit Word and Edge, but you should test to make sure. It's not very likely that the 64-bit version will significantly help with performance, but it cannot hurt to try.

    Excellent, I'll give it a test but if it doesn't increase performance, then I might as well leave it for now.
