How to make pdf viewer more smooth in zotero

I use arrow keys to control pdf up and down in pdf viewer, but it is not smooth enough.
How could I make it smoother? Or is there any add-on to make it happen? Really appreciate for any kind of help.

I use control + j / k as arrow keys, like vim

My zotero edition is zotero6.0.37

Thanks guys!!!
  • Start by updating to Zotero 7 or the Zotero 8 beta.
  • No, Zotero 7 is not fast so I refuse to update. Sometimes it takes up a lot of memory.

Zotero 7 is faster than Zotero 6 and uses the same or less memory in most cases. If you use plugins that slow things down or use a lot of memory, you should remove them.

If you can reproduce a problem in Zotero 7 after restarting Zotero with all plugins disabled, we're happy to investigate.

Beyond that, we can't help you further here as long as you're on Zotero 6, which is no longer supported.
  • The truth is that Zotero7 have memory leak problem. The pdf viewer is a terrible. If you could not help that is OK, you could not represent everyone. I could find someone else. Dozen of friends hate Zotero7 because it is not small and beauty anymore.
  • If you're going to post here, please trust that we know what we're talking about.

There have been no reproducible reports of memory leaks in Zotero 7 without any plugins installed. If there were, we would fix them.

People frequently report high memory usage — sometimes tens of gigabytes — when they have many plugins installed, but those are problems in one or more of those plugins that we can't do anything about. If you're seeing that, you should identify the plugin responsible and report the problem to the plugin's developer. (The very fact that you're talking about using Vim key bindings means you're using Zotero with plugins.)

Again, if you can reproduce a problem after restarting Zotero 7 with all plugins disabled, you should report it and we'll investigate.

(If you're going to argue that Zotero 6 was more beautiful than Zotero 7, I don't know what to tell you other than that you are very much in the minority.)
  • That's funny. I am not using plug in because I use Karabiner to control computer like vim. It will not effect Zotero performance at all. There is noting to do with plug-in. Lots of friends use Zotero, believe me I am not minority about Zotero6. Lots of friends love Zotero6 instead of Zotero7.
If you do not want to help, fine. Stay out the way, I just want to find friends still use Zotero6 and solve problem together.
It is sad that the new product is not well received, but facts are facts.
  • Zotero 7 has been nearly universally well received. Sorry to hear you're not a fan.

One more time, if you can reproduce a problem in Zotero 7 with no plugins enabled, you should report it in a new thread. Otherwise you're just wasting everyone's time, including your own. Zotero 6 won't be receiving any further updates, so there's no way we or anyone else could possibly help.
