Zotero connector error in Primo

Has anyone seen this Zotero connector / Primo error before? It was reported by a library user, and I haven't been able to replicate it. Any ideas for what might be causing it, or how to troubleshoot would be appreciated!

  • Yes, I've seen this & discussed it with our (Syracuse) library: it looks like that page was accessed using an openurl service, as e.g. used by Zotero's "Library Lookup" functionality. While that page looks like a regular Primo page, it actually is a separate page under the hood and does not contain the link to the (PNX) metadata Zotero uses for Primo import, so import fails.

Our library talked to ExLibris and at least at that time the answer was that they did not intend to add PNX to the openurl landing pages.
(We might want to remove detect on pages like that on the Zotero end so it doesn't display a book icon @AbeJellinek )
  • Thanks, very helpful. So from a user perspective, does that mean if they access a record page directly via a Primo catalog search, it should work? (Is that why I wasn't able to replicate the issue?) Thanks again.
  • Exactly, yes
  • got it, thank you!
