A confused newbie wanting to delete group libraries

Dear all,
Having just downloaded Zotero and started playing with it (following Donna Cox Baker's book on genealogy) I want to delete her example research that I have downloaded, so that I can start my own input. How do I delete the group libraries that I have downloaded from her example data? I have searched the online forums here and it is said that this can be done via the "manage groups" option - where do I find this as it is not jumping out at me anywhere? I am using Zotero 7.0.22 on a 64-bit Windows 11 machine. Many thanks, ADB

Click Groups at the top of this page, click on the group name, and click Leave.
  • Many thanks for this. However, this raises a question in my mind - as the data 'here' is sync'd to that on my laptop, how would I delete the group libraries on my laptop IF syncing was not set up?
  • You wouldn't be able to get the group libraries onto your laptop without syncing in the first place.
  • Hi, gsd4me. So sorry I'm only just seeing this. If you were working from my most recent book about Zotero 7, you've imported sample data into a collection. You can right-click on the collection and choose Delete Collection and Items. That will move it all to the Trash folder and will be totally removed within 30 days, if you don't manually empty the trash meanwhile.

If you're using one of my older books, you joined a group online and leaving the group, as Dan says, will eliminate it from any place you've installed it.

Feel free to contact me if you have any trouble. You can go through the Contact menu at genohistory.com.

And thanks for making me aware that this needs to be added to future books...how to get rid of the exercise data. I'll also post a note about it on the Genohistory Facebook page.
