APA 7: incorrect reference output

I only noticed recently that Zotero desktop produces the wrong output for items that have an edition number and/or two or more editors when I select the APA (7th ed.) style in English (UK). For example:

Balsam, K. F., Martell, C. R., Jones, K. P., & Safren, S. A. (2019). Affirmative cognitive behavior therapy with sexual and gender minority people. In G. Y. Iwamasa & P. A. Hays (Eds), Culturally responsive cognitive behavior therapy: Practice and supervision (2nd edn, pp. 287–314). American Psychological Association. https://doi.org/10.1037/0000119-012

English (US) produces the correct reference and, as far as I know, the full stop after "Eds" and the abbreviation "ed." for edition should also be used in English (UK). I found this both when using quick copy as well as the word plugin; the web library produces the correct output, though. This didn't happen 2 months ago, and the issue persits when using Zotero in troubleshooting mode. Is there a way to fix it, or is it the intended behaviour?
(I haven't noticed any other errors, but I haven't tested all item types)

Windows 11
Zotero 7.0.22 (64-bit)
  • Why does this matter? If you want to follow the style for the _American_ Psychological Association, use English (US) -- that doesn't have to be the same as your document language in Word, you can still set that to British English.

While there is some variation, standard British English doesn't use periods at the end of plural acronyms (because there is nothing left out after then s), so those are now consistently removed.
  • Thanks for clearing up the reason behind the differences. I was not aware of that.
