Starting zotero, adding files, suddenly started duplicating

New zotero install, I started dragging 5 or so files (wouldn't work for more) that slowly got the meta data added.

After around 50 were added, it started duplicating files for no reason, w/o command.
It was coming from internet connection (stopped when offline).

There is no sync yet.

Why is this happening & how do I make it stop?

We'd want to see a Debug ID for this happening. This isn't something anyone else has reported.

Not sure what you mean by this. It shouldn't be a problem dragging many files into Zotero at once.
  • here's the ID D826837437

Also, it's not a wholesale duplication of all the files, only some. I did read an earlier comment where someone mentioned it (duplicates) could be based on multiple browsers open?

Doing more files just seems heavy, taking quite a long time to even appear as a pop up telling me that the process has started. So I'm doing small batches. Any tips on how to better import ~450 files?

  • OK, never mind @dstillman

It looks like the first import (all) that I tried did not terminate, and was actually running slowly in the background while I thought nothing was happening.

So the duplicates are mostly just what I was batching in later, when the import suddenly caught up to where I was.

    Sorry to bother :)
