[Feature Request] Bookmarks in the PDF reader

edited July 2, 2022
It's pretty often for researchers to read a long paper (maybe 10 pages or more) in several days or weeks. A bookmark is essential in this situation, and things get very inconvenient when I find there is no such thing in Zotero 6's PDF reader (I have to make do with special notes as a workaround). Is there any plan for adding such a feature to the PDF reader? I'm a developer and may contribute to this if it is on the schedule.

UPDATE June 7, 2022: I'm working on adding this feature myself.

UPDATE July 3, 2022: I've forked related repositories on GitHub (see below for the links) and pushed some commits (while more is kept locally since there are still modification and checks needed), but I'm currently occupied by my research work, so the development won't be very fast in several months.

Related forked repositories:

* https://github.com/cychen2021/pdf-reader
* https://github.com/cychen2021/pdf-worker

  • I second this feature. It's such an important part of my workflow, and probably one of the only things keeping me from fully using the in-built PDF reader.
  • (FWIW, Zotero does remember the state, i.e. the last page opened, of open PDFs)
  • +1. Is there github link for your work?
  • this would be great, thanks!
  • Would love to see that too!

    Hi, does one of those work to create a bookmark like in Acrobat? I've tried Jasmium (which is what I was looking for for CNKI articles) and it does work with articles but not for entire books
