Storage for shared library

Hi all,

Hopefully quick question - if I am an owner of a shared library that does not have anymore storage, do I need to upgrade my storage to increase the shared libraries storage? My personal accounts storage is not full, but the shared library is, so I'm just wondering how increasing my personal accounts storage will apply to the shared library?

If it helps there are currently 3 "owners" of the shared account, but it would be ideal if the original owner didn't have to upgrade their storage.

Thanks!
  • There's only ever one owner of a group, and that's the person whose storage is used for the group. The owner can transfer ownership in the group settings.

You can see how your storage quota is used on https://www.zotero.org/settings/storage
  • The original owner has made two other people owners (myself included). Are you saying the original owner is the only one who can buy additional storage that is applied to the shared library?

  • The original owner has made two other people owners (myself included).
No, I'm saying that that is literally impossible. Zotero groups can only be owned by a single account, there is no option to add additional owners (only administrators).
I'm also saying that the owner of a group can transfer ownership (and thus whose storage is used) to other people, so no, it's not just the original owner who can buy storage, it's only the _current_ owner.
  • Ahh okay, I see what you mean, sorry for the confusion! Thank you for clarifying, that is so helpful!
