Regarding the development of Zotero plugins, does the plugin also need to comply with the AGPL 3.0 ?

The reason for initiating this discussion is the observation that a batch of plugins have recently removed their open-source licenses.and concerns have been raised about potential risks of continuing to use them.

There's a fair amount of uncertainty about the extent of the vitality in GPL licenses, but I don't see Zotero arguing its license should apply to plugins. I don't see any problem in using these other than the fact that long-term sustainability is much weaker for tools that can't be forked and distributed by others.

(The two linked projects almost certainly violate the trademark, though; they shouldn't use Zotero in their name).
