doi tool & Safari extention

Hi team,
I'm having issues with the safari extension and doi inserter in my Mac Zotero application. Do you have any suggestions for how I can troubleshoot this without losing my references?

It is not clear what you are describing. What are the "doi tool" and "doi inserter"? Could you provide more details as explained here?

This is not working. Neither is the Safari extension. When I click it, nothing comes up in my Zotero application. Previously everything was working fine.

You need to provide an example URL/DOI for a failed attempt, in that case.

There's nothing to provide? It just freezes once I type in a doi (any doi) any nothing appears. Then I have to quit the program and relaunch it for the program to unfreeze.

We still always want an example DOI. But can you also provide a Debug ID for an attempt that fails?

There's currently a planned maintenance outage at Crossref, which provides metadata for most DOIs. Zotero should be using an alternative method for retrieving metadata that should avoid the outage, but it's possible your Zotero didn't receive the update to do so.

For Safari, you'd have to say more about what exactly is happening. I don't know what "When I click it, nothing comes up in my Zotero application" means.

See attached. The only real way for me to "show" you is the greyed out frozen Zotero page once I try to insert the DOI manually to get the info given the Safari plugin isnt' working. As you can see it greys out, freezes the whole application, and stops working.

@sharonrosenrauch: Again, we would need to see a Debug ID for an attempt that fails. We have no way of helping you if you don't provide the info we ask for. (We didn't ask you to "show" us anything — we just asked for an example DOI and a Debug ID.)
