Zen browser support

Hello. Is there a chance that Zotero Standalone integration for browsers other than Firefox will be provided? I am thinking in particular of the Zen browser, which is based off of Firefox.
If not, then is there a way to reliably save entries from the Zen browser to Standalone?
Thanks!
  • Zenodo certainly supports other browsers than Firefox already, and there have been various reports on this forum from people who use it with Zen (which apparently accepts Firefox plugins). For example: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/483752#Comment_483752

    Have you tried it yourself?
  • Hi. Thanks for confirming this and sharing the link. I wasn't able to find info on browsers other than the mainstream ones, so I asked.
It does indeed work fine now. Though I can't get the Z icon (that I need to press to save an entry) to come up on the toolbar.

Note that you wrote only about Firefox specifically, not about mainstream browsers, so my answer was perhaps not 100% aligned with your need. There's no official information about Zen or many other non-mainstream browsers, but in this forum there is evidence that it can work for Firefox-derived browsers such as Zen.

Now I'm confused my your statement: "It does indeed work fine now" versus "I can't get the Z icon (that I need to press to save an entry) to come up on the toolbar" feels like a contradiction to me?
  • Just that the Z button wasn't showing up in the customise toolbar section on Zen.
I had to play around in the Extensions section, and then it started showing up on its own.
While integration doesn't seem to be perfect, it does seem to work.
Will update if there are any issues.
    Thanks.
  • Great!
    Thanks for the explanation.
