WebDAV File Sync Not Starting After Reset File Sync History (Debug ID: D539323579)

Hi Zotero team,

I'm experiencing issues with file syncing via WebDAV.

I recently reached my Zotero Storage quota, so I switched to using WebDAV. After setting it up and verifying the server successfully, I clicked the Sync button but nothing happened—no sync activity, and no files were uploaded to the WebDAV server.

To troubleshoot, I followed the steps in the documentation:

I went to Preferences > Sync > Reset, and selected "Reset File Sync History" (only this option).

I started Debug Output Logging.

I clicked the Sync button again—still, no reaction at all.

I’ve confirmed my WebDAV credentials and path are correct and that file syncing is enabled. Despite that, no folders or files are generated on the WebDAV server.

    Nothing to do with file sync. You've just disabled syncing for My Library altogether. #4 here:

  • I’m not trying to sync My Library—the content I’m looking to sync is in Group Libraries only.

    Previously, I had disabled syncing for libraries I didn’t need, and only left checked the specific group collection I wanted to sync. But even after enabling sync for all libraries just to be sure, clicking the Sync button still does nothing—no activity or error messages.

    Also, my WebDAV folder remains completely empty. I use Nutstore (Jianguoyun) as the WebDAV provider, and while verification was successful, their plan has a 1GB monthly upload limit, and my library may exceed that. Could this upload cap be silently preventing file sync from starting?

    Group libraries only sync files via Zotero Storage. Look at the WebDAV setting again — it's specifically about My Library.
    No files to upload for My Library
    You don't have any files in My Library.
