New Heinonline Website

Zotero is no longer retrieving PDFs from HeinOnline since Hein updated their website for me and a few other users. Is anyone else having this issue?
  • I found the same problem too. Have you find any solutions?
  • We’ll fix.
  • Hein is also aware of the problem and is working to fix it. I’m supposed to get an email when the problem is resolved.
  • Oh, that's great. And I would really appreciate it if you can inform me about the good news when the problem is fixed.

Another issue possibly related to the redesign: it's also not retrieving most of the metadata for some articles. It looks like it's cutting off everything after an apostrophe, e.g. for an article titled "Morrison's Flawed "Focus" Test" it just saves "Morrison" as the title and no other metadata. I contacted Hein about this, figured I'd share it here too.
  • Hi all. I'm with HeinOnline Technical Support. Our dev team would like to know if there are any error logs available that can help point us in the right direction regarding the PDF download problem. In the meantime, I'll also create a second ticket regarding the apostrophe/metadata problem.

  • @mpneely, @wp0918, @shelbaum: I just pushed an update that should fix the metadata issues. Your Zotero Connector should auto-update within a few minutes, or you can update translators manually from the Advanced pane of the Zotero settings.

@adamjtramp: Thanks for getting in touch. I think the metadata issues were on our end (we looked for a specific element on the page that no longer exists in the updated site). Should be fixed now. I'm not yet sure whether the PDF download problem is on our end or yours, though. We'll keep you updated.
