Citation style inconsistencies

After I updated to the newest Zotero, my Chicago full note footnotes are coming in as just the regular note. When I preview the full note version in the style preview in zotero it appears as expected, but in Word it shows up as the regular note instead. I have my preference set to the full note in word and experimented with other styles. The other styles seem to work but the variations on the Chicago style footnotes all appear the same to each other. Ideas????

  • You realize that subsequent citations to the same work will take short notes in Chicago, yes?
  • I am having the same issue between chapters. In Chicago, if you are using the full note style, in a new chapter it should again display the full note, not the shortened note. Otherwise you have to produce a full bibliography, which I do not want to do.
  • Not really the same issue, but CSL/Zotero isn't aware of chapters/sections etc; the only way to do this is to author the chapters in separate documents.
  • I fixed mine by hand. It is a weird thing. So if the same source (citation) ends a chapter and begins a chapter, it looks strange in the notes. In my screenshot you will see it, the first reference continues from the last chapter in the end notes. My solution was manually updating the initial entry in the next chapter for clarity. I had to do that three times. I did author the chapters as separate documents, but when they were merged in the template and I updated citations, it "fixed" them. BTW adding another footnote takes 4 minutes, 35 seconds on the Mac, then it appears in the underlined format until I do the refresh, which takes a little over 5 minutes. I have 1,100 footnotes, converted to endnotes.
