Style Request: Vancouver with abstracts

I have been trying to create a custom version of the existing Vancouver style CSL (https://www.zotero.org/styles/?q=id:elsevier-vancouver#importConfirm=vancouver) that includes abstracts in the bibliography, as well as the DOI. I am not having much success with my limited technical skills. If possible, if there is no DOI then the URL should be pulled instead.

I currently use EndNote to accomplish this but would love to switch the workflow to work with Zotero.

In text citations should have no change from existing Vancouver style linked above.

I only require this for journal articles.

In the present study, we aimed to systematically evaluate the current evidence regarding the intraoperative workload of surgeons performing robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) for prostate cancer. A systematic search was carried out in the PubMed-MEDLINE and Web of Science databases through April 2024 using the following search terms: "workload AND robot assisted radical prostatectomy", "workload AND robotic radical prostatectomy", "task load AND robotic radical prostatectomy", "task load AND robot assisted radical prostatectomy" and "NASA-TLX AND robot assisted radical prostatectomy" by combining population, intervention, comparison, and outcome (PICO) terms, following preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. We therefore selected studies that included patients with prostate cancer (P) who underwent robotic radical prostatectomy (I) and reported a workload/task load questionnaire (C) to assess the intraoperative workload/task load of the surgeon performing robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (O). A total of 11 studies were identified. The surgeon's workload during RARP was assessed using the National Aeronautics and Space Administration task load index (NASA-TLX) and/or the surgery task load index (SURG-TLX) in the studies. Total NASA-TLX scores of the studies ranged from 22.7 +/- 3.2 to 62.0 +/- 6.4. Mental and physical demands, flow interruptions, surgeon experience, the use of single or multiple ports, and the relationship between the surgeon and other staff in the operating theater may play a role in the intraoperative workload of the console surgeon. The studies we reviewed suggest that RARP offers an acceptable workload for the console surgeon despite its mental demands. Copyright © 2024. ABSTRACT: Adhesive capsulitis (AC) is a pathologic process in which excessive collagen depositions form across a joint leading to stiffness, pain, and limited joint mobility. Our case is a 48-year-old man who presented with right hip pain. Approximately 5 months after arthroscopic labral repair, he reported recurrence of the pain and limited range of motion in the hip. A therapeutic hip hydrodilatation was performed using ultrasound-guidance and an anterior approach. One month after the hydrodilatation, ported resolution of the pain and hip internal rotation was symmetric. Most patients with AC of the hip can be managed nonsurgically with anti-inflammatory drugs, corticosteroid injections, and physical therapy. However, patients with persistent pain and limited range of motion after these treatment options typically are only left with the option of surgery. There is a lack of data on pressure hydrodilatation or distention for AC of the hip. In this case report, the patient developed AC after labral surgery and was successfully treated with pressure hydrodilatation. Resolution of the patient's symptoms suggests that this procedure can potentially be performed in postsurgical AC without adverse events. Copyright © 2025 Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc. 3. and so on...

Appreciate any help or a point in the right direction!
  • What is this for?
If it's for a journal, please share a link to the citation guidelines.
  • This is not for a journal.

I carry out literature searches, export articles from databases to Zotero, and then provide a report of findings in the form of a bibliography (with abstracts) in a Word document.

FYI: I typically use the right-click menu option to "Create Bibliography from Items" function in Zotero to do this; I do not use in-text citations as I'm only providing a bibliography.

The American Psychological Association 7th edition (with abstract) [https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id:apa-with-abstract] style is fairly close to what I'm looking to do -- just with Vancouver/ICJME style instead of APA.
  • Take that APA style, replace the "citation" section with the one from the Vancouver style. That'll be the easiest.
