Upgrade StorageSame citation keys on multiple computers?
Currently, I write my work in pandoc-flavored markdown with Better BibTeX (BBT) citation keys on a single laptop.
I have just gotten a new work computer, and have synced my Zotero library to that machine as well. I would like to be able to work on the same documents on both machines, but worry that each machine may generate conflicting citation keys.
This Better BibTeX thread from October 2024 indicates that the way to avoid generating conflicting keys across machines is to pin them:

Is this still the current best practice? Would like to hear from anyone else who has a similar setup and how you solve this.
If Better BibTeX is no longer required and this can be accomplished directly from Zotero, also interested in that possibility.
