Upgrade StorageWhy files naming "download" can only be opened by zotero reader, not by other readers?
When I try to use my customized PDF reader to open an attachment of an item, it doesn't work. I found out that the suffix of the attachment is gone and the file type is no longer .pdf. The same question occurs in many other items.
How are you saving these files to Zotero?
Can you provide a couple screenshots and a Report ID?

But I don't know if the report ID is connected with my problem.
It has been a long time (over 2 years) since I saved these files to Zotero, so I can't confirm how I saved them. I remember that I respectively created the items and downloaded the files, then drafted my files to the item, and right-clicked the file ->'manage attachments' ->'rename and move'. And somewhen it became like this.
Start by upgrading to Zotero 7. If you then rename files with right-click → Rename File from Parent Metadata, Zotero should re-add the missing file extension. You can search for "download" in All Fields & Tags mode, do a Select All to select all items, right-click, and rename them all at once. (If any parent items match the search, you'll want to Shift-click to deselect them.)
