Zotero retrieves blank metadata

Hi,
When importing a PDF by drag-and-drop, Zotero will sometimes retrieve blank metadata instead of reporting an error or actually retrieving the metadata.

Is there anything I'm doing incorrectly?

    It looks like the database Zotero uses to query for most article metadata (CrossRef) may be having some trouble -- this would typically be recognized with more complete metadata.

    We've switched to an alternative mechanism to work around the problem. Your Zotero should auto-update within a few minutes, or you can update translators manually from the Advanced pane of the Zotero settings.
