Cursor flashes between vertical line and arrow in PDF view - 7.1-beta.36+1eacc8bbd

In the PDF view, when the cursor hovers over the PDF, it switches between a vertical line and an arrow very quickly. The effect is a flashing point in the middle of the text.

If I move the cursor on top of highlighted text in the PDF or to the sides (annotations or info column) the cursor stops flashing.

This seems like a bug.

Can you reproduce this in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”)?

Yes, it's the same flashing cursor.

Here is a video of the troubleshooting mode. The cursor is actually flashing faster in reality, so I can't see either the arrow or the vertical line. I think the animated gif converter deleted frames so it is more difficult to see the fast flashing, but you can see that the cursor is changing from a line to the arrow when placed over the unhighlighted portion of the PDF.

The cursor is also broken in the PDF Reader in Windows.
