Up and down arrow keys stop working after certain operations

Hi, I've been experiencing this for a while. I'm not sure if it's always the same thing that causes the arrow keys to stop working, but I often find myself unable to move through items with up and down arrows. Restarting Zotero always solves this.

This time I payed attention and I noticed it happened after deleting an attachment (a link) of a Zotero item (a journal paper). My Report ID for this specific instance is 1127945343

    You're on a very old Zotero 7.0 beta version from last year. Start by updating to the current 7.1 beta.

    (It should have auto-updated you to the 7.1 betas, but that wasn't working properly from earlier Zotero 7.0 betas. We've now fixed that.)

    Thanks a lot for letting me know that my version was not up to date. I updated to the current beta, but the problem persists for me.
    The new report ID is 323002295

    I searched something, then deleted an attachment in one of the resulting items (this time it was a note, not a link) and afterwards I was not able to move up and down using arrows. I tried a couple of times and these steps seem to consistently reproduce the problem.

    Update: I tried with Zotero in Troubleshooting Mode and I wasn't able to reproduce the problem, so I guess it may be due to some plugin. Sorry for stealing your valuable time.
  • I have the same problem. My version is 7.0.15 (64-bit) Windows.

    Until now, I have thought that my keyboard is a problem.
    The problem appears from time to time. I didn't know exactly when it appears.
    If I come to know when it happens, I will let you know.

  • Further update. I tried again and this time I got the same behavior even in Troubleshooting Mode. I did the same thing: search for something, select an item, delete an attachment, after this there is nothing selected, so I click in the list of items and I can't move up and down with arrow keys.

    The report ID is: 1697481624

    Sorry to bother, but I confirm the problem is not due to an old beta nor to plugins. It's not a big deal, but if this affects more people it might be worth looking into it.

    Apologies if my tone came across as impatient, it wasn’t my intention. I wasn’t aware a GitHub issue had already been opened; I just wanted to ensure the bug was properly reported, especially since I had previously noted I couldn’t reproduce it in Troubleshooting mode.

  • Hi, after a few months I’m still experiencing this issue almost daily, which forces me to close and reopen Zotero many times a day. Is there any update on solving this small but annoying issue?
